little european tour...

Here are some pictures of the 12 day trip I was talking about in the previous post. They aren't in any particular order, but it will give you an idea of what I did while I was gone! Shorty, are you impressed?? :)

our group from France

eating lunch in Holland! :)

it was a personal goal of mine to find the longest German word I could. It's an amazingly fun game!

Our fearless leader Johannes (from German, but on staff in Nantes)

This is the stand for Agapé (Campus Crusade for Christ) that we had. Donael is being our Eiffel Tower since we didn't have a real one...

Supper with Basile and Ben

Claire (Basile's wife!) and I

Pretty scenery in the country of Luxembourg

One evening before the main session at our conference, they handed everyone a Burger King crown to wear. How thoughtful.

The dinning hall where we ate all our meals

This is where we slept. Lots of girls in big tents.

These are the tents from the outside.

There were these two rooms that had about 7 toilets in each room, and 2000 girls had to share them.

The shower facilities. :)

Brushing Teeth.

It was a lot of fun.

Now I'm back in Rennes and loving it. Last night I met up with Sarah, Sven and Matthieu and we ate dinner and then watched Rennes play in the France Soccer Cup semi-finals. They mounted this huge screen in one of the big downtown squares, and it was full of proud fans! It was great, ESPECIALLY since we WON!!!! :)

home again!

Oh man, it's so good to be home! I just got back from a 12 day trip to Germany and Belgium with students and other staff from France, and it was awesome! We went to a missions conference in northern Germany for the first part, then had a week of outreach and evangelism in Brussels on our way home. I got home last night late, and what luxury to be able to sleep in a bed after 12 days of sleeping on the floor! It was a really great experience. One of the advantages of going in the car, though it was a long drive, was to be able to see the countryside of different European countries. We drove through 5 different ones:

They were all beautiful. The autobahn in Germany that we drove on was CRAZY. We went anywhere between 140-160km/hour. That's about 85-100mph! Wow. It was so fast, what fun!! The cars that you see approaching in your rear view mirror really are closer than they appear. They whizz right by you. I also noticed that the grand majority of the cars were BMWs, Audis, Mercedes, Volkswagen, etc. It was fun passing people in our 9 passenger rented van with stickers on the side advertising the rental car companies low prices! :) I felt classy.

I was sick for a couple of days on the trip and still have a nasty cough (I sound like I'm a smoker), so these next couple of days I'm taking it easy, catching up on email, doing laundry, going grocery shopping, writing a prayer letter (which is long overdue. :) ) etc.

I'll put up pictures soon Shorty!
